How to study (and write about) approaches to knowledge organization (KO)

Read (some of) the literature explicitly discussing this approach to KO. When reading: Try to identify 1) how is this approach different from other approaches? 2) What appears to be the strength about this approach? 3) What appears to be the weak sides of this approach?

Also: Evaluate the papers you read: Do they provide clear answers to the questions above? Are they scholarly or more like advertising a particular point of view?

Try to find at least one example of a KOS constructed on the basis of this approach. (The connection between the theoretical basis and a given system may be something claimed, something that you examine, whether you agree or not).

Try to relate to possible implications of the approach. (Try to relate to broader philosophical views about the nature of knowledge, language, cognition and social organization)
